Coach Workshop 22nd November

Work on your indoor coaching skills with Balcatta Volleyball Club’s new hands on Coach Workshop on Sunday 22nd November. Gain skills and confidence in a welcoming club setting. This Workshop is open to coaches of all levels and both Balcatta and non-Balcatta members.

Led by Level 3 Volleyball Coach Artem Ipatyev, the Workshop format will be:

8am – 9am: Coaching Theory

9am – 10.30am: Practical coaching on the court – putting theory into practice

10.30am – 11am: Zoom session with International coach Max Gubbiotti (ex-Italian B League Coach). If time, with a short Q&A at the end

11am – 11.30am:  Light lunch provided

Gain practical skills and meet other coaches that are passionate about volleyball.

Time: 8am – 11.30am

Place: Hale School Senior Gym, Entrance A, 160 Hale Road, Wembley Downs.

Wear: Clothes that you can play volleyball in, as some coaches will help demonstrate drills in the practical session

Bring: Drink bottle, pen and paper (if you like), curiosity and an open mind.

Cost: Free for Balcatta Volleyball Club Members, $10 for non-Balcatta members

 We will be holding a Junior Camp after this coaching event, so anyone that is interested in putting their newly learned coaching skills into practice, please let me know if you would like to stay. Send an email to so we know you are staying.

Indoor Junior Camp

Balcatta VC are running a mini-camp on Sunday 22nd November for any junior athletes wanting to keep on working on their indoor game.

All experience levels are welcome. The camp is for athletes aged 11 years old to 18 years old.

This meeting will be held to elect the 2020 committee and provide an insight to the club’s operation from the 2019 season. The 2019 Committee invites all those that were a member in 2019 to participate.

Volunteering as a committee member can be a rewarding experience and helps keep our club culture alive. If you have a passion to help our club thrive we ask you to put your name forward at this year’s AGM.

Big Cat Little Cat

Big Cat Little Cat is a fun mixed social King of the Court competition. Each team has some “Big Cats” (Senior Players) and “Little Cats” (Junior Players). Each round has a different challenge that will utilise the ability of all players. Eg. Only a Little Cat can score the point this round. We hope you will join us for a fun afternoon of volleyball.

Teams will be chosen at random throughout the day so bring your A game.

$10 cash per person to play all day.

Hale School Volleyball Committee will be providing a sausage sizzle to keep everyone well fed for a small donation.

The Sand Sports bar will open from 5pm so players can hang around and socialise as well as play more volleyball!!

Orders are open NOW and can be made up to 9am Wednesday 1st May. Delivery is the following week at your training session, so choose Free Delivery to Club/School as your delivery option when purchasing.

Junior League – Kidsport Vouchers

The Balcatta Volleyball Club is a KidSport approved club.
KidSport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5-18 years to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards club fees.
To find out if you are eligible for this funding and how to apply, please visit the KidSport page on the DSR website by clicking the following link.

Note: If you apply for a KidSport voucher and it is approved, you will receive an email with a unique validation code for the voucher. This must be sent to the Club Treasurer to enable the club to claim the money from the council.
